Looking to get out and about on the food scene this weekend? Here are three hot things you should check out:
Friday, July 24
Today is National Tequila Day and Roger Clyne, one of the Valley’s favorite musicians and tequila aficionados, will be bartending (that’s right, bartending) at Taco Guild in midtown Phoenix from 4-6pm. Food and drink specials will abound but we recommend trying the Roger Clyne’s Mexican Moonshine cocktail, the Guild Peacemaker, crafted by bartenders there. Also, get a plate of three tacos in red, white, and green tortillas for $7.24!

Saturday, July 25
Citizen Public House released a new menu last week and if you haven’t been in to try any of the items, cancel your plans for Saturday and head in to try some stuff. There’s a summery Grilled Peach Salad with baby romaine, mascarpone, bacon lardons, candied pecans, and champagne vinaigrette; theres a Cubano made with Tender Belly ham, roasted pork, Swiss cheese, and house-made pickle all on a pressed demi baguette and served with yuca chips; and a Grilled Niman Ranch Flat Iron Steak with smashed chickpeas, grilled asparagus, caramelized Cipollini onions, fried salsify, and piquillo pepper butter.

THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW
Sunday, July 26
There’s a Pig’s Head Dinner at Bink’s Midtown on Sunday and if you want to go, RSVP now because this event sold out last year. Join celebrated food pioneer and James Beard recognized chef, Kevin Binkley, for one of his specialties — pig’s head! This family-style dining event kicks off at noon (making it more of a lunch, but whatever) and features slow-cooked pig’s head along with 16 side dishes for $28. The best part – it’s all you can eat. So, round up your friends and family and make a reservation. There will also be three desserts including Chocolate Cupcakes with Pig Head Bacon & Caramel Frosting.
