We’re off the Paso Robles Wine Week payroll (Remember that barrage we launched in February?) but we’ll totally admit that we fell absolutely in love with the wines from that region. Now we’ll promote their stuff for no other reason than we’re simply hooked on the juice. So if we had the time and the money, we’d definitely book a couple flights to the upcoming Paso Robles Wine Festival on May 20-22.
The flight’s only an hour and a half, so in no time you’ll be strolling in a nice central California climate sippin’ hundreds of wines WITH the winemakers themselves. There are tickets to events all weekend that range from $55 to $250, but the best deal is the Weekend Pass for $325.
It includes the Friday night tasting, RESERVE, when winemakers break out all the stuff that’s not part of the usual tasting circuit–think reserves, futures, and other blockbusters. On Saturday, check into the Winemaker Seminar to listen and taste with a panel of winemakers and somms as they explain what makes Paso wine so unique (and award-winning). Then head into the Grand Tasting with VIP access, which means you’ll get to walk the tables and try wines for one full hour before the crazy crowds (or is it just crazies?) are let in. Head back to your hotel for a cold shower to sober up, and then return to the park (where all of the events are being held) for the Wine Country Auction & Dinner. This fashionable event is known as a “must-attend” in Paso, so why shouldn’t you be there, too?
But if you want to win a pair of tickets to the whole weekend, along with all the accoutrement that go along with winning a free trip (getting hooked up in every way possible) pop over to the Travel Paso Facebook page and enter to win. It’s simple, just head over here: www.facebook.com/TravelPaso. You’ve got to ’till April 28th!
Have your UPS account at the ready, because you’ll surely want to head back with some cases of your favorites. Check out all the details and purchase your tickets here: www.pasowine.com.
