As you read this, 40 teams of BBQ competitors from all around the country are rolling into the Scottsdale Waterfront. They’re lighting their smokers, buying ice for the beer, and getting ready for all of you. Turns out, Mayor Jim Lane has something to say about all of this. Mayor Lane will be handing over the Grand Champion trophy and check for $4,000 at the 2nd Annual Arizona Barbecue Festival Presented by azcentral.com on Saturday. But we were summoned into his office the other day for an official Mayoral address aimed at the competing teams. This is serious stuff, so click the picture above and watch the address.
