We’ve all got a huge list of to-do’s we simply never get to check off. It might include things like changing the air filter, finishing the yard, or throwing away that strange take-out container at the back of the fridge. Sadly, that list often includes a couple restaurants that, for whatever reason, you’ll never make the time to try, despite your best intentions.

Next week’s a perfect opportunity to check a couple of those off your list because it’s Arizona Restaurant Week in AZ. This means that about 150 restaurants around town are offering 3-course meals for $29 or $39 (sometimes including a cocktail, but never including tax and tip).

Some restaurants have given Restaurant Week a bad name, offering dishes that barely add up to the 3-course value, but most have learned to use the opportunity to fish for new customers. We headed into Different Pointe of View at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs to chat with an old friend there and ended up previewing a few of the Restaurant Week dishes. The entrées DPOV will be dishin’ out next week are far from skimpy—a generously sized Cedar River filet mignon with enough accoutrement to keep you busy well past the meat, giant scallops with charred rainbow cauliflower, roasted sun chokes, fermented black garlic, and golden raisin olive oil emulsion, and a killer pumpkin/maple-smoked pork tenderloin.

For a couple more RW picks, watch EATERAZ on Good Morning Arizona! earlier this week by clicking on the video pictured above. We recommended San Tan Brewing Company (for a dinner with beer pairings), The Mission (for affordable dates), Rhythm & Wine (for French onions!), and Fogo de Chao (for a great bargain).

Arizona Restaurant Week begins this Saturday. To view the list of restaurants, their menus, and link to OpenTable for reservations, click here: www.arizonarestaurantweek.com
