The Dish

Cinco de Mayo falls on a Wednesday next week, so that gives us an excuse to get the fiesta started a few days early this weekend. Kick it all off this Saturday at the Fourth Annual Salsa Festival at the El Pedregal Shops from noon to 3pm. The Salsa Festival is totally free to attend and offers tons of salsa from about a dozen restaurants and other brands.

As the chefs battle it off for the title of “Best Salsa,” restaurants like Dos Diablos, El Encanto and Harold’s Cave Creek Corral will plate up some of their best food. Music? Of course – Mariachi! It’s all sponsored by Semental Tequila.

The event will be emceed by Yelp’s own Gabi Kepes-Messinger, who will be annoyed and haggled on stage by EATERAZ’s own David Tyda. We hear Gabi will do a shot of tequila every time someone says “Yelp Rules!” so stop by and test the theory.
