[...] Although I really miss all the data entry my boss has been having me do, he asked that I write something for EATERAZ. Receiving my “masterpiece” back, I took a look, and was relieved to see that I could provide a solid base for my boss to get his message across. I didn’t expect to get it perfect the first time. He says that a little more of “me” weaved in would have been nice. “Oui Monsieur!” I say! He said I should pepper my prose with slang & text-like language because hey, this isn’t long-form journalism. Besides, after 12 years as a magazine editor, he’s learned that people don’t really read, they skim. SO it’s our job to cater to that fact. Don’t get the wrong idea – my boss is awesome, very chill and enthusiastic and awesome some more, and I am grateful for his feedback and constructive criticism. At least my ideas are there behind it all…the interesting lingo, all my bosses doing…but he couldn’t have done it without my solid start.
