Last week the landlord “locked out” owner/operator Randy Smith from his once hot nightspot — SIX Lounge and Restaurant — due to non-payment of rent. Rumors have been swirling for months about the lifespan and imminent demise of this lounge fueled by stories of liquor distributors demanding cash for their deliveries thanks to bounced checks from the establishment, and to the landlord who took back the office space that was next to the club.
In the meantime, the landlord has placed the space in the care of Steve McDonald, who originally helped bring Randy Smith to him. McDonald is unsure whether or not he will “take over” the space and renovate, or just help the landlord find a new tenant.
