The Kentucky Derby is around the corner (May 2) and the event’s “Official Bourbon” for the past eleven years, Woodford Reserve, is releasing a limited-edition bottle to honor the historic race.
Featuring the work of jockey-turned-artist Tom Chapman, the bottle depicts a close-up of race action with Churchill Downs in the background. “Much as we try, it’s impossible to express in words the intensity of racing from a jockey’s perspective,” says Chapman. “My goal is to capture it with a paint brush and canvas, often using unique angles and vibrant colors to set the tone.”
The limited edition liter-size bottle is available now through AJ’s Fine Foods. About $42.
