Just before next week’s Cinco de Mayo, you’ll probably get inundated with lists documenting all the lame-ass parties that will be happening “in honor of” Mexican defeat over those unruly French years ago. Hell, you might even get a list from us.

But here’s one fiesta that’s more than a party that honors the day that honors that historic day: Padre’s Modern Mexican Cuisine turns 5 and will be celebrating itself on Cinco de Mayo with live music, free food, giveaways, and drink specials. The Padre’s event continues into May 6 with a luau on the patio (because Mexico must rhyme with Hawaii in some countries, or something) with free roasted pig and Hawaiian rice plus big drink specials! Hawaiian shirts are required. So give a call for more info or just show up.
