Q&A WITH CRAIG DEMARCO

Interview

Mar

2009

EATERAZ caught up with Craig DeMarco (Le Grande Orange, Postino, Radio Milano, Chelsea’s Kitchen), to discuss his plans for his new Postino located in Central Phoenix.

DeMarco: I’m so stoked about EATERAZ!!!

EAZ: Why thank you kind sir, so are we.

EAZ: Why have you waited so long to do another Postino. It seems like a no-brainer that more would succeed?

DeMarco: We waited 8 years to do our second Postino. As you know we looked hard for the second location knowing that we would be judged by our sophomore effort.

EAZ: Makes sense. How did you finally choose the location?

DeMarco: As you know, I am all about the neighborhood. I am totally committed to Arcadia and doing anything I can to elevate its prosperity and growth.

EAZ: So you chose the North Central area because you feel that is another great neighborhood?

DeMarco: Exactly.

EAZ: So tell us about the spot you chose to do it, isn’t it the Katz’ Deli that was there?

DeMarco: Yes. The building that we renovated was built in the 1950’s and housed the Katz’ Deli for just shy of 30 years! It is constructed of similar materials as we have at Postino Arcadia and is exactly the same size. It is part of the North Central neighborhood and is a 5 minute walk to the light rail.

EAZ: What about the menu? We’ve heard you have a bigger kitchen at this one.

DeMarco: We are going to do the same menu and wine program and we also have an awesome patio!

EAZ: So when’s the big opening?

DeMarco: The Week of March 16th.

EAZ: Wow, sometime next week, sounds fab. Keep us posted. Our 10 billion readers like to be kept in-the-loop.
