Josh Parry is getting closer. When he opened Sidebar a few months ago in the shadow of Starbucks and Pei Wei on 7th Ave & McDowell, he still had a long way to go–the sofa cushions were way too big, some details were ducktaped together, the staff needed a groove. All of that’s handled now and the place is shaping up to something that just may last through these tough times. The drinks are creative (and under $10!) but the lighting is not. IKEA?! Come on, sidebar, people don’t want to drink next to the same cheap lamp they have at home – that’s why we went out in the first place!
But EATERAZ rec’s the Muyito cocktail: think mojito, but with tequila, and a little cucumber, and another tequila as a floater, and something else. Maybe a couple other things. It’s delicious and we had 3.
